This Is The Last Time You’ll Ever Be Gaslit by the Wellness Industry

Hey beautiful human — I’m so glad you’re here, because we’re about to pull back the curtain on one of the biggest lies you’ve ever been sold: that you need more willpower, more rules, or a “better plan” to fix your eating.

Let’s be crystal: you are not broken. You’re not lazy. You’re not lacking discipline.
What’s broken… is the system.

Today we’re talking about why dieting — yes, even the “healthy reset” in green-juice drag — fuels binge and emotional eating. And why never dieting again might be the best decision of your healing journey.

Take a breath. Truth bombs incoming. 💣

The Receipts Diet Culture Hopes You Never Read

  • 95–98% of diets fail long term. Most people regain the weight, and many regain more. This isn’t personal failure; it’s a predictable outcome of restriction.

  • Weight cycling is common and is linked with worsened physical and mental health. Funny how that part never goes viral.

  • Dieting increases risk of binge eating, emotional eating, and body dissatisfaction. Restriction doesn’t heal bingeing — it feeds it.

  • Meanwhile, the global weight loss industry pulls in $70B+ every year… powered by repeat customers. If diets worked, they’d be out of business.

New plan, new influencer, new packaging. Same failure rate.
If you’ve “fallen off the wagon” a thousand times, ask yourself: What if the wagon is the problem?

Your Body Was Never the Problem

Here’s what your body is doing (and why it’s not sabotage):

  • Restriction = threat. Your body’s job is survival. When you cut calories, skip meals, or track yourself into oblivion, your biology doesn’t clap — it panics.

  • Hunger hormones rise. Food thoughts and cravings get louder. This isn’t weakness; it’s your brain keeping you alive.

  • Binge urges = protection. That “out of control” feeling? It’s a biological response to deprivation, not a moral failure.

So when the dam breaks and a binge happens, it’s not because you “lack willpower.” It’s because your body is screaming, “I need fuel and safety, now.”

Why “Try Harder” Keeps You Stuck

Diet culture thrives on your shame. It tells you thinness equals health, discipline, and worth — and if you just tried harder, you’d finally be “good.” You chase that imaginary finish line while the rules get tighter and your world gets smaller.

But listen closely: you were never meant to win that game. The system needs you to blame yourself so you keep buying. Again. And again. And again.

If You Want Bingeing to Stop, Stop Doing the Thing That Causes It

Harsh but loving: the worst thing you can do right now is start another diet.

You already know you can’t keep doing this — the guilt, the constant brain-noise about food, the shame spiral after every “slip.” That’s not discipline; that’s hell. I’ve lived it too.

And I’ve also lived the other side: I haven’t binged since 2019. Not because I found the perfect plan — because I left the plan. I rebuilt trust with my body, regulated my nervous system, and swapped punishment for nourishment. Now I teach women to do the same.

So… What Do You Do Instead?

You don’t need more rules. You need a completely different approach:

1) Re-nourish (safety first)

  • Eat regularly (3 meals + snacks).

  • Add, don’t subtract: protein, carbs, fats, fiber, pleasure.

  • Hydrate, rest, and choose movement that feels good (not punitive).

2) Rewire the story

  • Retire “good/bad” food labels.

  • Notice the binge voice, name diet-culture thoughts, and choose a kinder script:
    “I’m not out of control — I’m underfed/under-supported.”

3) Regulate the nervous system

  • Daily micro-resets: breathwork, grounding, sunlight, music, a 10-minute walk.

  • Reduce known triggers: stash the scale, curate your feed, wear clothes that fit your now body.

4) Repair trust with compassionate consistency

  • After a binge: eat the next meal. No compensation. No punishment.

  • Ask, What did I need there? (Connection? Rest? Comfort? Carbs?) Then meet that need on purpose.

  • You didn’t fail; the method failed you.

  • Binge urges are protective, not proof you’re broken.

  • Willpower is not the fix; safety is.

  • Freedom is built through many ordinary, consistent meals — not one perfect day.

You have never failed. You’ve been set up to stay a repeat customer. That ends here.
